it's my party

as you know, we made the trek to oklahoma for elle's birthday party. by doing so, we were able to have most of her grandparents and great - grandparents there. elle is lucky enough to have three pairs of grandparents and 8 great - grandparents! that doesn't happen very often.

we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of people who took time to make the trip to elle's uncle kyle & aunt casey's house in edmond to celebrate her turning one (which actually isn't for another couple of days). thanks again, kyle & casey, for letting us use your house! it sure beat the idea of having it at the park! and thanks, everyone, for coming to her party!

elle was queen of the jungle.

elle wasn't sure what to do with the cake. with a little help, she figured it out and took to the icing like fish to water.

this is what it looks like when you come off a sugar high. it took less than 5 minutes after the last person left for miss elle (and all of us!) to crash.
